Your Pregnancy

During your booking appointment, we shall get to know each other, and I'll gather a comprehensive history of your health and wellbeing. Together, we'll create a tailored appointment schedule that fits your availability.

You and I will meet throughout your pregnancy at 16, 25, 28, 32, 34, 36, 38, 39, and 40 weeks, until you give birth to your baby; all from the comfort of your home. During these visits, I will offer to complete the recommended health checks, which include your blood pressure and urine check. I will listen to your baby as you advance through pregnancy and measure your abdomen to monitor your baby's growth. Each appointment will last at least 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing me to get to know you and your family, explore your thoughts and fears as you approach birth, and build a trusting relationship in preparation for your baby’s arrival.

As you progress through your pregnancy, you will feel truly nurtured; you will receive a set of complementary therapies appropriate for you, including a beautiful pregnancy massage,  online yoga sessions, and nutrition advice.

You will be invited to participate in the Gentle Path Birth Preparation Series, as part of a group or as an individual, in the comfort of your home. These sessions are tailored around your needs and preferences, designed to aid relaxation in pregnancy and birth, plus support you in understanding options for birth, and finding out how to make the most of your birth ball, robozzo, and peanut ball.

You will receive a Mini First Aid session either during pregnancy or once your baby has been born.

At 36 weeks of your pregnancy, we will prepare your birth plan. This involves having an in-depth discussion about your expectations and fears for birth, discussing the options available, and sharing information to help you prepare for birth.

Celebrate the beauty of your pregnancy with a complimentary photoshoot.

Through your pregnancy, you will have access via WhatsApp to ask questions or seek advice from me, and as you approach birth, I will be contactable 24/7 to be available for you when labour starts.

Your Birth

As you approach your birthing time, you will relax in the knowledge that you will be cared for by me and a second midwife, whom you will have the chance to meet at your 36-week appointment. We will be on call for you from 37 weeks onwards, ready to support you through your labour and birth.

Whether you choose to give birth at home or in a hospital, you will receive continuity of care from me throughout. Feel safe and held as you let yourself go in labour, allowing the oxytocin to release and your body open ready for the birth of your baby.

If you're plan a home birth, at your 37-week appointment, I shall deliver your pool, along with your TENS machine and a complementary gift bag of birthing goodies.

During labour, you can expect compassionate care, to feel nurtured and supported in your birth preferences.  Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.

You and your baby

After the birth of your baby, I will support you in your recovery and well-being. We will support you to spend time bonding with your baby and encourage breastfeeding. You will receive a specially prepared hamper of products to aid your recovery and ensure you feel pampered and nourished as a new mum.

Together, we shall pop some visits in the diary tailored to your needs and preferences, typically on days 1, 2, 3, and 5 and 7, where you can be reassured that you will be cared for while you develop lasting bonds with your baby;  supporting you in your new role through breastfeeding, and your baby's care needs.

You can expect that as part of your care in these first weeks, I shall prepare some fresh, nutritious meals for you to support your recovery.

You will receive a complimentary consultation with a lactation consultant to support you in your breastfeeding journey.

I can offer routine newborn screening tests, which include the Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) and the Newborn Screening Test, carried out typically on Day 5.

After the first week, we will continue our visits weekly until your little one is 4 to 6 weeks old, ensuring you feel supported and nurtured during this special time.

Celebrate the birth of your baby with a newborn photoshoot

To support your recovery from birth, you will receive a special Mummy MOT and a post-pregnancy complimentary therapy.

Please note:

I cannot offer blood tests, ultrasound scans, newborn hearing screening, or tongue tie division. If you are considering these tests they can be accessed via the NHS or private practitioners if preferred and I can help with signposting.

I advise to book your pregnancy with your local NHS provider so that any screening tests or referrals to the maternity unit are actioned more easily.
